Obesity is a disease with multiple etiological determinants, including biological, genetic, metabolic, behavioral, social, environmental, and economic factors, necessitating that the care of persons with obesity is best provided through collaboration among an interprofessional, multidisciplinary care team. This activity highlights key concepts in managing patients with obesity, provides an overview of the principles of interprofessional collaboration, and describes real-world approaches for the holistic management of persons with obesity.
