A highly prevalent disease with a high symptom burden that can cause serious complications, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is best managed by an interprofessional, multidisciplinary care team. This activity highlights key concepts in managing patients with GERD, provides an overview of the principles of interprofessional collaboration, and describes solutions to barriers commonly encountered when managing patients with GERD, particularly in the primary care setting.
