Interprofessional Care of Patients Treated with CAR T-Cell Therapy

To participate in this activity, please:

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies have transformed patient outcomes and treatment approaches for patients with difficult-to-treat hematologic malignancies leading to improved overall survival. However, the use of CAR T-cell therapies is challenging, requiring careful patient selection, prolonged treatment at an authorized treatment center, and ongoing monitoring and support provided by an interprofessional, multidisciplinary care team in the community and treatment center settings. This activity highlights key concepts in managing patients treated with CAR T-cell therapy, provides an overview of the principles of interprofessional collaboration, and describes the importance of close communication and collaboration, particularly during the transition from treatment center back to the community setting.
