Often a chronic disease, alopecia areata impacts the lives of patients far beyond the loss of hair, often causing a substantially diminished quality of life. To address the varied, often complex consequences of alopecia areata, care provided by an interprofessional, multidisciplinary care team is necessary. This activity highlights key concepts in managing patients with alopecia areata, provides an overview of the principles of interprofessional collaboration, and describes recommended roles for each member of the interprofessional, multidisciplinary care team for alopecia areata.
